Sarah. Acrylic portrait. I guessoed the canvas a couple of times because my other paintings got so absorbed I had to repaint them many times. Finished this one in about 4 hours. May tinker with it a bit as it is almost photorealistic at 20 feet. It is a pretty accurate representation of her.

Chinese Fish

This is a project in work. Getting each fish to look like a fish and then getting the water to reflect light is a real chore. But the many colors together is pretty cool.

I have worked on this painting forever. Rubbed it out and started over. Did a detailed background and then while I was perusing Daniel Greene's paintings, decided to just fill in the background. Has helped the painting a lot in my mind. But Im finally terribly tired of this paintng. Never again.

Here is an painting I did in 2006 in acrylic. I haven't changed my style at all in the last 2 years. Still like dark backgrounds with lots of contrast, lost and found lines. Is painting a waste of time? Still trying to figure that one out.

Probably one of the most interesting monuments in DC is near the Vietnam Memorial, across the street and hidden behind some trees. There resides a huge bronze of Albert.

Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Baby

In 1987 I went to Malawi, Africa with the Peace Corps. There I made a lot of friends with the locals and volunteers. Coming back to the US I photographed one of the volunteers baby girls and decide to stipple her.

Ireland

In Ireland a few years ago I gook a picture of the flowers in a window. They were pretty but the brickwork is what is interesting to me.

Do other artists wonder what the lifespan of their works is? Will they just end up in a trash can? Or a museum? Or be sold for big bucks a hundred years from now? Does it matter?
